Human remains have been uncovered in caves within the Machu Picchu Archaeological Park in Southern Peru. Eighty skeletons - dating back to over 500 years - were discovered accompanied with several artifacts and a stockpile of textiles. Construction of a wind farm that will provide 240 Megawatts to 80,000 families has been initiated by Peruvian company Iberoperuana Inversiones SAC. The "Parque Eólico San Andrés" (San Andres Wind Park) is being built in the coastal region of Paracas where desert winds and sunshine provide perfect conditions for wind turbines. The first turbine was inaugurated at the weekend and the entire project is hoped to be completed in less than two years.

The figure leaves national consumption to only 5 percent, which means that the per capita consumption of coffee in Peru is of 300 grams per year.
