Day 1: Arrival to Arequipa & City Tour

• Upon arrival, you will be collected at the Arequipa airport and taken in a private transfer to your luxurious Arequipa hotel where you will be able to rest and take some time to acclimatize to the altitude.
• Once fully rested, you will be met by a Peru Luxury Travel guide in the afternoon who will take you on a private tour of the main attractions of this expanding city.  The historic center of Arequipa, known as the White City, is truly magical; perhaps most impressive due to its unique combination of ornate colonial style buildings made of sillar, a white local volcanic lava rock, and a unique cultural and architectural integration of both European and native characteristics. Starting at the main square, you will visit the town hall and the neo-classical Cathedral, the two most visited ashlar constructions. You will then be taken through the old colonial housing area where you will see some of the famous casas or mansions, many of which are intricately decorated with Baroque façades. This exciting tour will also take you to the bustling local market to mingle with locals as they do their daily shopping.
• After the tour, you are free to keep exploring the city on your own. We highly recommend visiting the fascinating Santa Catalina Convent. Climb the stairs to the roof deck of the monastery where you will find an incredible panorama of the cityscape with the backdrop of El Misti, the snow-capped volcano that overlooks the city.
• Spend the evening at your leisure in Arequipa, exploring its lovely streets and tasting the exquisite Ariquipeñan gastronomy, celebrated throughout the country.

Day 2: Colca Canyon Tour

• After an early breakfast, your private guide will collect you at your hotel for the scenic drive to the Colca Canyon. The journey will allow you to catch your first glimpse of the wild and serene beauty that makes this area so spectacular.
• The road climbs to the Reserva Nacional de Salinas y Aguada Blanca where wild vicuñas roam the pampa, before meandering past sculpted, wind-swept cliffs revealing layers of colorful rock strata. As you pass through Patapampa, the highest pass on this journey, look for rare flora and fauna that live at this high altitude. Viscachas, small rodents similar to rabbits, dart between artful stone cairns, and strange brain-like plants called yapats flourish around the boulders that lay strewn across this seemingly barren landscape.
• From this unusual scenery you will begin the steady decline to the valley below, enjoying views of pre-Inca agricultural terraces before reaching the town of Chivay.  Once you arrive to your luxury hotel in Colca Canyon, you will have the afternoon free to relax in the natural hot springs and rest at your hotel nestled amidst this picturesque scenery.

Day 3: Colca Canyon Tour & Return to Arequipa

• Your guide will greet you after an early breakfast and take you to Mirador Cruz del Condor, one of the best viewpoints of this deep canyon and home to the famed condors that gracefully soar in the wind currents of the canyon.   The road leads past picturesque villages and pre-Inca ruins dominated by the glaciers Ampato and Hualca visible in the distance. On clear days you may even see smoke billowing from the active volcano Sabancaya. Once you reach Cruz del Condor, you can stand at the viewpoint and gaze into the canyon’s depths, stretching nearly 4,000 ft below. 
• Later on, you will return to Chivay for a delicious lunch before continuing on to Arequipa where you will check into your luxury hotel and spend the evening at your leisure.

Day 4: Arrive to Cusco

• After breakfast in your luxurious Arequipa hotel, you will be privately transferred to the airport for your flight to Cusco.
• You will be picked up at the Cusco airport upon arrival and taken to your lovely Cusco hotel. You will be advised to rest and acclimate to the altitude.  Spend the remainder of the day at your leisure, taking advantage of the wonderful amenities of your hotel or enjoying the vibrant Cusco nightlife.

Day 5: Cusco City Tour

• In the early afternoon you will head out on your private Cusco City Tour and visit some of the many amazing archaeological sites and wonders in and around the city. Included in the tour are the Cathedral, located on the Plaza de Armas, Cusco’s main square, as well as the sun temple Koricancha, Sacsayhuaman, Q'enko, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay.
• You will return to your hotel in the late afternoon and have the remainder of the day to spend at your leisure, either resting at your hotel, or exploring the city on your own. Try the delicious local cuisine and enjoy the hospitality of the inhabitants of Cusco.

Day 6: Tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas

• After an early breakfast at your hotel, you will embark on a journey into the famous Sacred Valley of the Incas. As you wind through the Andean mountain tops, you will see echoes of the traditional lifestyles that have remained unchanged for more than 500 years. Many people proudly wear traditional clothing, cook in clay fire ovens and utilize many of the irrigation techniques developed over half a millennia ago. The drive from Cusco is not very long and on the way you will see some typical Andean villages and scenery. Upon descent into the Sacred Valley you will arrive in the area the Inca revered for its lush fertile soils and advanced agricultural methods. 
• You will then drive along the Urubamba River for a short trip to the beautiful town of Pisac. Here you will have the opportunity to visit the lively local market, the largest in the area, and enjoy the beautiful handicrafts on sale. This town also has some very interesting small architectural elements which make this town a gem of the Sacred Valley. 
• Next you will visit the impressive ruins of Ollantaytambo. These magnificent ancient ruins look out as outposts over the valley and offer an incredible view of the entire Valley.  Originally the royal estate of Emperor Pachacuti during the Inca Empire, it later served as a stronghold for Manco Inca Yupanqui in the Inca´s final rebellion against the Spanish.
• In the evening you will return to your Cusco hotel where you will once again be given the opportunity to spend the evening at your leisure in one of the many fine restaurants or bars available in the area.

Day 7: Machu Picchu Private Tour

• After a delectable breakfast at your hotel in Cusco, you will take a luxurious train to the hidden temple of the Incas: Machu Picchu. The train ride will provide you with spectacular views along rivers, mountains, and forests.
• When you arrive in Aguas Calientes, you will be taken directly to the ruins of Machu Picchu. The hidden ruins of Machu Picchu are perched in the mountains about 20 minutes from this small town. If you choose to stay overnight in the Machu Picchu area, you will first be taken to your luxurious hotel in Aguas Calientes before heading out on your Machu Picchu tour.
• You will receive a privately guided tour of the fascinating citadel then you will have some time to explore the area or your own or head into town for a late lunch. If you are staying overnight in Aguas Calientes, consider relaxing in the nearby hot springs. Otherwise, you will take the train back to your Cusco hotel.

Day 8: Arrival to Puerto Maldonado

• After breakfast at your hotel, you will depart Cusco bright and early to catch your flight to Puerto Maldonado.
• You will be picked up at the airport in Puerto Maldonado by a Peru Luxury Travel representative and brought to your jungle hotel. The tranquility of the rainforest will absorb you. That evening you will enjoy a delicious meal before resting up for jungle tour at the break of dawn.

Day 9: Amazon Rainforest Jungle Tour

• At dawn, you will start your extraordinary Amazon explorations. You will first take a short hike to the parrot clay lick a few minutes down river. Watch the jungle come to life as you try to spot giant river otters, turtles, hoatzin, and wading birds. Enjoy a filling breakfast before heading out again to explore your fascinating surroundings filled with exotic wildlife.

Day 10: Amazon Rainforest Jungle Tour

• Wake up at dawn if you wish to take another optional visit to the clay lick. After breakfast, you will be accompanied by an Ese’eja on a hike. They will explain to you how the forest is used in their everyday life: for food, medicine, construction materials, etc.
• Enjoy another tasty meal for lunch before heading off in the afternoon for another hike that will take you on a trail through a bamboo forest and floodplain.
• You will return to your accommodations before dark, for a pleasant night of sleep during your final stay in the jungle.
